Thailand’s ferrous scrap import rose by 118pc to 138,022mt in May compared to 63,456mt in the same month, last year, according to the customs report released. Imports rose by 16pc from 119,457mt in April.

 

Imports from Australia jumped by 96pc to 21,002mt in May 2021 from 10,697mt in the same month last year. Compared to the prior month, the shipments from the country increased 7pc from 19,626mt. The United States exported 14,351mt of ferrous scrap in May to Thailand, up by 223pc from a year ago and 28pc from 11,202mt in April.

 

Aluminium 

Thailand’s imports of aluminium scrap rose by 41pc from a year ago in May to 28,806mt, but dropped by 5pc from 30,372mt in April. 

 

Imports from Cambodia went up by 66pc to 6853mt from 4135mt in May 2020 while dropped by 8pc from 7,424mt in April.
