Novelis has promoted its North America chief operating officer, Thomas Boney, to president and senior vice president of the region.
In his new role, Boney will be responsible for Novelis’s manufacturing and recycling facilities in the US and Canada. A 14-year Novelis veteran, Boney succeeds Marco Palmieri, who will now head the aluminum giant’s integration of Aleris into Novelis.
Boney has held various leadership positions across Novelis’s North American, European, and Asian businesses in capacities related to operations, sales, procurement, recycling, and supply chain functions, the company said in a press release this week.
Novelis recently completed its acquisition of Aleris after it agreed to divest from the latter’s Duffel, Belgium and Kentucky, US rolling mills.
