Davis Index: Market Intelligence for the Global Metals and Recycled Materials Markets

Thunderstruck Resources intersected 13.8pc zinc and 2.94pc copper, along with other precious metals like gold and silver, at drill hole WLK 17—part of the Korokauyiu copper-zinc project.

Drill hole WLK16A intersected 21.6pc zinc and 2pc copper across a drill core interval of 2.77 meters. These results increase the potential of finding underexplored zinc-copper VMS prospects across 15kms of geological trends.

Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation (JOGMEC) is Thunderstruck’s joint venture partner on the project, and, in a bid to properly bracket the prospective district and capitalize on additional zinc-copper discoveries, the two companies intend to raise the tenement to 136 sq kms from 30 sq kms.

The project’s next drilling phase in still in planning stages but holes are being scouted. Bryce Bradley, Thunderstruck’s president and chief executive officer, said the most recent results showed zinc grades increased 2.5 times. He added that the current scouting stage will help the companies understand the size and direction beyond the historical discovery.
