Ohio-based specialty steelmaker TimkenSteel has appointed Michael S Williams as its new president and chief executive officer (CEO), effective January 1, 2021.
Williams will replace Terry Dunlap, who served as the interim CEO. The company said in an announcement on Friday that Dunlap will continue his role on the Board as an independent director.
Williams has held several top-tier leadership positions in his career before Timken. Previously, he was the CEO of the Bayou Steel Group and also served as the president of stainless steelmaker Outokumpu’s Americas region, as well as vice president of US Steel’s North American Flat-Rolled division.
TimkenSteel, which specializes in alloyed steel products, recorded net sales of $205.9mn in Q3 2020 and posted a net loss of $13.9mn in the same quarter.
