Oil country tubular goods (OCTG) maker TMK has signed an agreement with JSC Uzbekneftegaz, Uzbekistan’s largest oil and gas company to develop steel-based products.
Under the agreement, the Russian OCTG maker will work with the Uzbek oil and gas company on joint projects in research, technical developments, and expansion of the oil and gas industry in Uzbekistan, TMK indicated in a press release on Tuesday.
Moreover, the company will help Uzbekneftegaz to define projects, determine technological initiatives, and develop specific steel-based product solutions for those projects. TMK’s Premium Service division, which supervises tubular products along with the TMK Oilfield Services division, which focuses on repairs will work together on these projects.
TMK recently made its first shipments of seamless cold-deformed small diameter stainless steel pipes to Hungary from its TMK-INOX subsidiary. New high-tech products are expected to open new markets for TMK, the company indicated.
