Tongling Non-ferrous commissioned the first phase of Chifeng Jinjian copper smelter project in Inner Mongolia, China. The first phase of the reconstruction project has an installed annual capacity to produce 260,000mt copper blisters. Upon completion, the project will have a design capacity to produce 400,000mt copper blister per year.
It is one of the largest copper smelting projects which replaces Chifeng Jinjian’s 120,000mt copper capacity built in 2008.
The CNY5bn ($35bn) reconstruction project is designed by ENFI and is located in the Marin Nonferrous Metals Industrial Park, Chifeng City. The first phase of the smelter was build with an investment of CNY3.25bn using advanced technologies including side blowing smelting, intelligent CNC converter blowing and rotary anode furnace refining process.
Chifeng Jinjian’s 42sqm side-blown smelting furnace is the largest such furnace in China. The smelter has an intelligent CNC converter that is eco-friendly with a smoke hood that solves low-altitude sulfur dioxide pollution problem and the sulfuric acid treatment unit also employs advanced green processes.
