Toyota neared its original production guidance for August on recovering demand in the global automotive sector after being affected by shutdowns due to the pandemic.

In a new release on Tuesday, Toyota said it expects the recovery to continue through the rest of this year and that it will offset production guidance in August by 2pc. The carmaker has decided to lift all operating suspensions going forward.

The trend shows rapid recovery for the Japanese automaker who reduced production guidance by 40pc in June and 10pc in July. The overall variation for the calendar year currently stands at 9pc from its initial plans.

According to media reports, the company will skip press conferences in light of the current situation and file reports online instead. Estimated production for August stands at 750,000 units, down 15,000 units from the guidance for the month.
