Toyota’s global production in August recovered by 93pc compared to the previous year while sales were down 10pc.
Production
In China, production volumes were reported at 119,711 units, up 15pc from the previous year. In Japan, production volumes stood at 202,691 units, down 11.5pc from the prior year. Production decreased as an effect of COVID-19, but recovery trend is in line with the global market.
Sales
Worldwide sales were recorded at 720,765 units, down 10pc in August from the prior year. Sales in Japan slipped 10pc too to 104,535 units while sales outside Japan was reported at 616,230 units down 10pc from the prior year.
In China, sales volumes rose by 27pc to 164,354 units in August from the previous year. China’s bid to boost sales by hosting local motor shows and other measured taken to attract customers supported demand.
