Switzerland-based Trasteel Group recently acquired Officine Tecnosider , an Italian steel rerolling plant with annual production capacity of 400,000mt of plates and round bars.
The mill, which opened in 2011, has annual capacity for hot rolled plates of 350,000mt, or 88pc of total capacity.
Steel operations are located in San Giorgio di Nogaro and strategically situated near two main ports, rail and road infrastructure to service its European customers. The 90,000mt facility produces standard structural grades, boiler steel, steel for quenching and tempering, and steel for pressure vessels.
Trasteel International was founded in 2009 to invest in ferrous and non-ferrous companies and to leverage raw materials sourcing, financing, logistics and management. It comprises companies in Europe, South America, Africa, Asia, and the CIS.
Officine Tecnosider was founded in 2011.
