Russian Industrial Metallurgical Holding (IMH)’s Tulachermet has achieved a record pig iron output for the fourth consecutive month in August, with both blast furnaces in operation, the company said in a statement. The plant produced 246,300mt of pig iron production in August, up by 900mt from 245,400mt in July.

Pig iron production in May and June stood at 229,900mt and 234,600mt, respectively.

The company said that the record output is a result of various developmental works like the overhaul of the blast furnace No.3, the high technological discipline of production departments, selection of optimal parameters for the blast furnaces operation, and the introduction of new methods of process control.

Tulachermet is IMH’s leading pig iron producer and exporter with an annual production capacity of 2.2mn mt. The plant produces more than 30 grades of pig iron for metallurgy and machine building. The company supplies materials to consumers based in Russia, the US, Europe, and the Middle East.
