Davis Index: Market Intelligence for the Global Metals and Recycled Materials Markets

Total auto production in Turkey jumped 19.4pc to 123,425 units in March compared to 2020. In Q1, production reached 345,691 units, up 1.3pc from the same period a year ago. Data was released by Turkey’s Automotive Manufacturer’s Association (ODD).

 

Segment-wise production

  • * Passenger car production in March stood at 74,995 units, up 4pc from the prior year and in Q1 it dropped 9.9pc to 211,877 units compared to 2020.
  • * Commercial vehicle production jumped 54pc to 48,432 units in March. In Q1, commercial vehicle segment grew 26pc to 133,814 units.
  • * Tractor production in March zoomed 163pc to 5,761 units and in Q1 rose 102pc to 15,075 units.

 

Exports

Turkey’s vehicle exports were reported at 95,633 units, up 14pc in March from the prior year. In Q1, exports totalled to 261,109 units, down 5.5pc from the preceding year period. 

 

Sales

Total sales in March stood at 96,944 units while passenger car sales rose 91pc to 76,357 units from the year prior. Commercial vehicle sales rose to 20,071 units, up 98pc from the preceding year. Sales data was released by ODD in the beginning of April.
