Turkey’s automobile production in 2020 fell 11pc to 1.29mn units while passenger car production was down 13pc to 855,043 units from 2019 levels, according to Automotive Manufacturers Association (OSD).
In December, total vehicle production was up 10pc to 149,614 units from the previous year while car output dropped 3pc to 92,300 unts from the previous year.
In January-December, total market increased by 62pc compared to the prior year to 796,200 units. The market for cars increased by 58pc to 610,109 units.
Commercial vehicles production dipped 8pc in 2020 — heavy commercial vehicles increased by 8pc and light commercial vehicle group decreased by 9pc.
In January-December, total automotive exports decreased by 27pc and car exports fell 28pc. A total of 916,543 units were exported of which 596,616 units were cars.
