Davis Index: Market Intelligence for the Global Metals and Recycled Materials Markets

The weekly Davis Index for DKP scrap (equivalent to auto bundles) in Turkey declined by TRY16/mt ($2/mt) to TRY2,365/mt ($306/mt) delivered on Monday. However, mills are divided on their pricing policies depending on their stock at hand.

 

Colakoglu Metalurji and Mescier have continued buying domestic DKP grade at TRY2,455/mt delivered and TRY2,240/mt delivered, respectively, since Nov 3-4. On the other hand, Kroman and Diler Demir Celik decreased their purchase price for the same material by TRY50/mt to TRY2,250/mt delivered and TRY2,330/mt delivered, respectively, on Nov 12-13.

 

Isdemir increased its purchase price for DKP grade by TRY60/mt to TRY2,405/mt delivered on Nov 13, while Erdemir continues to buy it at TRY2,505/mt delivered.

 

Kardemir decided to raise its purchase price for DKP grade by TRY30/mt to TRY2,570/mt delivered on Nov 10.

 

Purchase prices for shipbreaking scrap in Izmir rose by $15-20/mt to $295/mt delivered last week.
