The weekly Davis Index for DKP scrap (equivalent to auto bundles) in Turkey declined by TRY31/mt ($4/mt) to TRY3,392/mt ($452/mt) delivered on Monday as most mills continued to drop their purchase prices.
Colakoglu Metalurji and Erdemir announced new purchase prices for DKP grade at TRY3,525/mt delivered and TRY3,575/mt delivered, respectively, on Jan 16-18, cutting them by TRY50/mt. Kardemir reduced its purchase price for the same grade more significantly, by TRY100/mt, to TRY3,525/mt delivered on Jan 12.
Diler Demir Celik, Kroman, and Isdemir kept their purchase prices for DKP grade unchanged at TRY3,350/mt delivered, TRY3,305/mt delivered, and TRY3,365/mt delivered, because they are already lower than those from other mills.
Purchase prices for shipbreaking scrap in the Izmir region followed the downtrend in the market and fell by $3/mt to $460/mt delivered over a week.
