Davis Index: Market Intelligence for the Global Metals and Recycled Materials Markets

The weekly Davis Index for DKP scrap (equivalent to auto bundles) in Turkey decreased by TRY56/mt to TRY3,989/mt ($470/mt) delivered on Monday as prices for imported scrap and Turkish steel products declined.

 

Colakoglu Metalurji and Erdemir cut purchase prices for DKP grade by TRY75/mt over the week to TRY4,150/mt delivered and TRY4,210/mt delivered, respectively.

 

Diler Demir Celik, Kroman, and Isdemir announced new purchase prices for the grade at TRY3,720/mt delivered, TRY3,660/mt delivered, and TRY3,905/mt delivered, respectively, reducing them by TRY250-350/mt. These mills revised prices downward several times during the last week of May.

 

Kardemir kept its purchase price for DKP grade unchanged at TRY4,530/mt delivered.

 

Purchase prices for shipbreaking scrap in the Izmir region remained flat at $480/mt delivered, despite the prevailing negative sentiment in the market.
