Davis Index: Market Intelligence for the Global Metals and Recycled Materials Markets

The weekly Davis Indexes for Turkish DKP scrap (equivalent to bonus grade) and for extra grade scrap (equivalent to HMS 1&2 [85:15]) were unchanged on Monday at TRY1,515/mt ($224/mt) delivered and TRY1,434/mt ($212/mt) delivered, respectively.

Most Turkish mills didn’t revise their purchase prices because they can’t reduce them further as they require scrap and its inflow is slow. Moreover, imported scrap prices are expected to rise but there is no clarity on by how much they would increase.

Colakoglu Metalurji is purchasing DKP grade at TRY1,515/mt delivered and extra grade at TRY1,390/mt delivered, while Diler Demir is buying DKP grade and extra grade at TRY1,480/mt delivered and TRY1,370/mt delivered, respectively.

Erdemir is still paying TRY1,550/mt delivered for DKP grade and TRY1,545/mt delivered for extra grade, while Isdemir is purchasing DKP grade at TRY1,450/mt delivered and extra grade at TRY1,445/mt delivered.

Kardemir has maintained its purchasing prices for DKP grade at TRY1,685/mt delivered and for extra grade at TRY1,525/mt delivered.
