Davis Index: Market Intelligence for the Global Metals and Recycled Materials Markets

The weekly Davis Index for Turkish DKP scrap (equivalent to bonus grade) increased by Try20/mt ($3/mt) to Try1,735/mt delivered on Monday, while the Index for extra grade scrap (equivalent to HMS 1&2 (85:15)) rose by Try15/mt ($2/mt) to Try1,640/mt delivered.


Most mills decided to raise purchase prices for local scrap by Try20-40/mt on Feb 15 as prices for imported material increased.


Colakoglu Metalurji has raised its purchase price to Try1,735/mt delivered for DKP grade and Try1,620/mt delivered for extra grade and Diler Demir to Try1,720/mt delivered for DKP grade and Try1,620/mt delivered for extra grade. 


Erdemir is buying DKP grade at Try1,790/mt delivered and extra grade at Try1,785/mt delivered and Isdemir is purchasing DKP grade and extra grade at Try1,630/mt delivered and Try1,625/mt delivered, respectively.


Kardemir—the only mill that hasn’t revised the prices it has kept since Feb 6—is purchasing DKP grade at Try1,855/mt delivered and extra grade at Try1,665/mt delivered.


In Izmir, purchase prices for shipbreaking scrap increased by $4/mt to $265/mt delivered.
