The weekly Davis Index for DKP scrap (equivalent to auto bundles) in Turkey surged by TRY434/mt ($60/mt) to TRY3,370/mt ($464/mt) delivered on Monday on increases in imported scrap and Turkish rebar prices.
Colakoglu Metalurji and Diler Demir Celik both raised their purchase prices for DKP grade by TRY450/mt to TRY3,475/mt delivered and TRY3,350/mt delivered, respectively. Kroman lifted its purchase price for the same material by TRY440/mt to TRY3,300/mt delivered.
Erdemir and Isdemir announced new purchase prices for DKP grade at TRY3,325/mt delivered and TRY3,365/mt delivered, respectively, which are TRY300-400/mt higher than their previous prices.
Kardemir is now paying TRY3,620/mt delivered for DKP grade versus TRY3,125/mt delivered a week ago.
Purchase prices for shipbreaking scrap in the Izmir region rose by $35/mt to $425/mt delivered over a week amid positive market sentiment.
