The weekly Davis Index for DKP scrap (equivalent to auto bundles) in Turkey increased by TRY57/mt ($8/mt) to TRY2,893/mt ($416/mt) delivered on Monday as demand for the material improved in the domestic market.
Turkish electric arc furnace (EAF) mills raised their purchase prices for local ferrous scrap, considering production requirements, while most basic oxygen furnace (BOF) mills held them unchanged.
Colakoglu Metalurji lifted its purchase price for the DKP grade by TRY50/mt to TRY3,025/mt delivered on Feb 13. Diler Demir Celik and Kroman followed suit and increased their purchase prices for the grade by TRY60/mt and TRY100/mt to TRY2,800/mt delivered and TRY2,860/mt delivered, respectively.
Erdemir decreased its purchase price for DKP grade by TRY50/mt to TRY2,975/mt delivered on Feb 9, but Isdemir and Kardemir kept them unchanged at TRY2,815/mt delivered and TRY3,025/mt delivered, respectively.
Purchase prices for shipbreaking scrap in the Izmir region rebound by $5/mt to $375/mt delivered over a week as market sentiment improved.
