Davis Index: Market Intelligence for the Global Metals and Recycled Materials Markets

The weekly Davis Index for DKP scrap (equivalent to auto bundles) in Turkey soared by TRY544/mt ($71/mt) to TRY3,529/mt ($462/mt) delivered on Monday amid surging imported scrap and steel product prices.

 

Colakoglu Metalurji raised its purchase price for DKP grade by TRY550/mt to TRY3,615/mt delivered over the week, while Diler Demir Celik raised its prices by TRY570/mt to TRY3,560/mt delivered. Kroman increased its purchase price for the same material by TRY600/mt to TRY3,500/mt delivered.

 

Erdemir announced new purchase prices for DKP grade at TRY3,625/mt delivered, TRY550/mt higher than a week ago, while Isdemir is buying the grade at TRY3,605/mt delivered now compared with TRY2,555/mt delivered earlier.

 

Purchase prices for shipbreaking scrap in Izmir region jumped by $30/mt to $430/mt delivered due to robust buying activity in Turkey.
