In June 2021, passenger car sales rose by 9.3pc to 62,348 units and light commercial vehicles sales jumped 25pc to 17,471 units compared to the prior-year month, according to data released by Automotive Distributors Association (ODD).
The auto association predicts sales for the year to be between 775,000-825,000 units. In 2020, total sales were 773,000.
Turkey’s passenger car sales and light commercial vehicle sales increased 12.5pc from June last year to 79,819 units.
The rise in sales in June was weaker compared to high year-on-year growth sales recorded in the previous months. The month still marks the highest recorded sales in the last four years.
January-June
Cumulative sales for six months totaled 394,701 passenger cars and light commercial vehicles, up 55.4pc from the prior-year period. Passenger car sales were up 52.4pc to 310,325 units and light commercial vehicles sales rose 67.2pc to 84,376 units.
