Turkey’s total passenger cars and light commercial vehicle sales rose by 37.8pc in November to 80,141 units compared to the year prior. 

 

Passenger car sales increased by 34pc to 64,357 units in November from prior year. November sales rose by 7.4pc compared to a 10-year average of November sales. The sales data was released by Automotive Distributors’ Association (ODD) on Dec 2. 

 

In Jan-Nov period, total cars and commercial vehicles sales rose by 72pc to 668,495 units, while passenger car sales grew by 67.3pc to 529,388 units from a year ago. 

 

Sedans accounted for the highest sales amongst passenger with 233,470 units sold, followed by SUVs at 156,269 units. Around 139,107 units of commercial vehicles were sold in the 11-month period, up by 92.8pc from 2019 levels. 

 

Growth in auto sales result in higher production which will boost demand for metals, both ferrous and non-ferrous.
