Davis Index: Market Intelligence for the Global Metals and Recycled Materials Markets

The weekly Davis Index for DKP scrap (equivalent to auto bundles) in Turkey increased by TRY87/mt ($12/mt) to TRY3,616/mt ($485/mt) delivered on Monday as most mills raised their purchases prices on Dec 24-25. However, it should be noted that some of them began decreasing prices on Dec 28.

 

Colakoglu Metalurji, Erdemir, and Isdemir announced new purchase prices for DKP grade at TRY3,715/mt delivered, TRY3,775/mt delivered, and TRY3,655/mt delivered, respectively, on Dec 24-25, increasing them by TRY50-100/mt but have not revised them again since then.

 

Diler Demir Celik decreased its purchase price for DKP grade by TRY50/mt to TRY3,610/mt delivered on Dec 28 as demand softened, while Kroman reduced it by TRY55/mt to TRY3,545/mt delivered.

 

Kardemir has maintained its DKP purchase price at TRY3,825/mt delivered since Dec 22.

 

Purchase prices for shipbreaking scrap in Izmir region rose by $25/mt to $455/mt delivered over a week, because some producers preferred buying high-quality material from the domestic market instead of imported scrap.
