Davis Index: Market Intelligence for the Global Metals and Recycled Materials Markets

The weekly Davis Index for DKP scrap (equivalent to auto bundles) in Turkey rose by TRY136/mt ($17/mt) to TRY2,603/mt ($334/mt) delivered on Monday amid solid demand for the material and an uptrend in the imported ferrous scrap market. Most mills raised their purchase prices between Nov 26 and 28.

 

Colakoglu Metalurji, Diler Demir Celik, Erdemir, and Kardemir announced new purchase prices for DKP grade at TRY2,645/mt delivered, TRY2,570/mt delivered, TRY2,695/mt delivered and TRY2,770/mt delivered, respectively, increasing them by TRY100/mt.

 

Kroman and Isdemir both lifted their purchase prices for the same material by TRY150/mt to TRY2,550/mt delivered and TRY2,555/mt delivered, respectively. Mescier increased its purchase prices for DKP grade by TRY80/mt to TRY2,410/mt delivered.

 

Purchase prices for shipbreaking scrap in Izmir surged by $30/mt to $345/mt delivered over the week amid high buying activity.
