Turkey’s auto production in November grew 5.4pc to 143,264 units from the prior year. Passenger cars production is down 2.6pc to 91,067 units in November compared to a year ago. Automotive data was released by the Automotive Manufacturers Association (OSD) on December 14.
Passenger car imports are up 17.9pc to 36,923 units and total auto imports up 20.2pc in November from 2019. Passenger car exports are down 23pc to 61,381 units and total auto exports have fallen by 11.5pc to 101,692 units compared to the preceding year.
Segment wise, production of truck doubled in November from 2019 levels. Production of bus and minibus fell by 16pc and 10pc respectively.
From January-November, total production has dipped 13.4pc to 1.14mn units and production of passenger cars slipped by 14.1pc in November from the prior year.
Automotive production is slowly declining compared to the prior month. In October, production was up 14.1pc to 150,746 units from the previous year. A 5pc decline in production in November compared to the prior month could mean that demand for metals from automotive sector is slightly lower.
Turkey’s total passenger cars and light commercial vehicle sales was up 37.8pc in November to 80,141 units compared to the year prior. The sales data was released by Automotive Distributors’ Association (ODD) on Dec 2.
