Turkey’s domestic producer price index (D-PPI) rose by 3.92pc in May against the previous month but increased by 38.33pc against the same year-ago month, according to Turkey’s Statistical Institute (TUIK).
The monthly rate of increase was more pronounced in May compared to 1.54pc in the same month last year and 2.67pc in May 2019.
For the main sectors of industry, manufacturing grew by 3.94pc last month compared to April. Mining climbed by 2.76pc and electricity by 4.5pc in the same period.
In annual terms, in the main sectors of industry, manufacturing led with an increase of 41.27pc in May followed by mining and stone quarrying at 32.9pc, water supply at 29.7pc and 6.6pc in electricity.
