Turkish hot-rolled coils exports declined by14.3pc to 2.55mn mt in the first 11 months of 2020 compared with 2.97mn mt in January-November 2019, due to trade tensions with the EU.
According to statistical source SteelData, HRC shipments from Turkey to Italy and Spain dropped by 14.4pc and 39.9pc to 833,000mt and 314,000mt, respectively, during the period under review while shipments of flat product to Bulgaria increased by 18.4pc to 152,000mt.
Export of HRC from Turkey to Egypt, Pakistan, and Iraq rose by 51.6pc, 103.4pc, and 82.4pc to 345,000mt, 116,000mt, and 107,000mt, respectively.
Turkey supplied 92,000mt of HRC to China in January-November 2020 compared with 37mt in the prior year.
Turkey’s HRC shipments to the EU-28 decreased by 30.6pc to 1.57mn mt in the first 11 months of 2020, according to SteelData, while shipments to North Africa and the Middle East increased by 38pc and 69.6pc to 433,000mt and 271,000mt, respectively.
