Davis Index: Market Intelligence for the Global Metals and Recycled Materials Markets

Turkish steelmaker Yildiz Demir Celik began the $80mn investment and planning toward a second hot-dipped galvanizing line in February 2021 with a commissioning outlook in Q4 2021. A spokesperson provided Davis Index confirmation regarding the ongoing installation process, which is running on time and will increase the capacity from 600,000mt to 900,000mt. 

 

According to initial statements, the production increase could be as high as 350,000mt once full equipment and the latest automated technology are installed. Revenue is anticipated to grow by about 40pc due to the product expansion. The company has announced an investment in a third galvanizing line in the coming year.

 

Yildiz Demir Celik commenced steel production in 2018 and is part of the Yildizlar Yatirim Holding group. The rolling mill complex in Kocaeli, Turkey has an annual capacity of approximately 1.5mn mt including cold-rolled and galvanized coil.
