Russia’s Udokan Copper has installed a 4,000mt/hr copper ore crusher from thyssenkrupp in a bid to ramp up the extraction of copper concentrate.
The equipment will be placed near the company’s Zapadniy open-pit mine in Far East Russia, according to media reports on Aug 11.
Udokan had announced setting up a mining and metallurgical plant (MMP) in March this year, and construction is currently underway.
Processing parameters of the crusher will be auto-controlled remotely, and ore will be transported to the MMP once it becomes operational.
