Ukraine’s cast iron production in the twelve months of 2020 (Jan-Dec, 2020) stood at 20.35mn mt, up by 1.5pc as compared to 20.06mn mt produced in 2019, according to the preliminary data released by Ukrmetalurgprom association.
The country’s steel output in 2020, however, declined by 1.4pc to 20.55mn mt from 20.84mn mt produced in the preceding year, while its production of rolled metal products stood at 18.34mn mt, down by 0.7pc as compared to 18.21mn mt produced in the previous year.
Cast iron exports
In 2020, the country’s cast iron exports grew by 20.3pc to 3.10mn mt from the year before, as per local media reports citing data released by the State Customs Service. The exports were worth $922.22mn, up by 15pc as compared to 2019 in monetary terms.
Ukraine’s top cast iron consumers in 2020 were the United States, China, and Turkey.
Cast iron imports
Ukraine imported 593mt of cast iron worth $417,000 in 2020. In 2019, the country had imported 1,076mt of cast iron worth $645,000.
The top suppliers of cast iron to Ukraine were Germany, Russia, and Poland.
