Pig iron output from Ukrainian mills increased by 4.2pc to 5.31mn mt in Q1 2021 compared to the same quarter a year ago, according to preliminary data from Ukrmetallurgprom.
Ukraine’s finished rolled steel output climbed by 1.2pc to 4.73mn mt in Q1 2021 against the year-ago quarter, though the country’s crude steel output dropped by 0.5pc to 5.29mn mt in the same timeframe.
In March, Ukraine produced 1.97mn mt of pig iron, 1.74mn mt of crude steel, and 1.59mn mt of finished steel. Daily average production for the first two months in 2021 was trending slightly lower than production during the same period in 2020.
