Ukraine’s Pig iron production in January 2021 stood at 1.817mn mt, up by 5.1pc as compared to 1.729mn mt produced in the same month in 2020, according to the preliminary data released by the Ukrmetalurgprom association.
Steel production
The country’s steel output in January, however, declined by 0.1pc to 1.841mn mt as compared to 1.843mn mt produced in January 2020.
Rolled metal output
In January 2021, Ukraine’s rolled metal output stood at 1.659mn mt, down by 1.2pc as compared to 1.679mn mt produced in the previous year.
In 2020, Ukraine’s cumulative crude steel output stood at 20.6mn mt, down by 1.1pc as compared to 2019, according to the World Steel Association (Worldsteel).
The Ukrainian metal industry has been under crisis since before the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
