Ukrainian manufacturers’ crude steel output in the first 10 months of the year (Jan-Oct, 2020) stood at 16.97mn mt, down by 5pc from the prior-year period due to the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and crisis in the country’s metal industry, according to data provided by Ukrmetallurgprom.
The country’s finished steel product output in the Jan-Oct period fell by 2.4pc to 15.17mn mt from the prior-year period.
Production of steel pipes in the country during the same period stood at 710,000mt, down by 8.3pc from the preceding year period.
Pig iron production in Ukraine during the 10-month period stood at 16.88mn mt, down by 5.5pc as compared to the same period year prior.
Iron agglomerate output, however, grew by 0.3pc to 26.28mn mt in Jan-Oct as compared to the prior-year period.
