UK’s total engine production is the first ten months of the year declined by 30.1pc to 1,511,749 units, from 2,162,148 units in the prior-year period, according to Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders Production Data (SMMT) data.

 

In October, engine output fell by 20.1pc to 197,374 units, from 247,179 units in Oct 2019.  

 

In the ten months, engine production for domestic usage was down by 26.9pc to 588,784 units from 805,549 units a year ago. While in October, it dropped by 25.2pc 78,890 units from 105,450 units from October last year.

 

Engine output for exports fell by 32pc in the Jan-Oct 2020 to 922,965 units, from 1,356,599 units in Jan-Oct 2019. In October, it declined by 16.4pc to 118,484 units, from 141,729 units in the prior-year period, according to the data.
