Montenegro-based aluminum producer Uniprom has invested €15mn ($17.7mn) to construct an aluminum billet plant in the country’s capital.
According to government reports, the plant will be operated by Uniprom’s subsidiary, Kombinat Aluminijuma Podgorica (KAP), which was taken over in 2014 after the latter filed for bankruptcy.
The plant will be integrated into KAP’s facility in Podgorica, producing 70,000mt of billets per year, and employing 80 workers.
Last month, Uniprom also sanctioned a silumin alloy production plant on the same campus, with an investment of €10mn ($11.8mn) to produce 30,000mt annually.
