New car sales in the US grew by 5.5pc in October among Japanese and Korean manufacturers such as Honda, Mazda, and Hyundai.
Media reports noted new car sales of 541,707 units last month, up from 513,124 units in October 2019. Among the major manufacturers, Honda reported a 3.6pc decline to 113,197 units compared with 117,486 units last October. In the same period under comparison, Toyota reported 7.86pc higher sales at 178,658 cars from 165,644 units.
In Q3 2020, new car sales declined to 4 million units, down by 8pc from 4.3 million cars sold in Q3 2019.
