The US Census Bureau estimated construction spending at $1.46tn in November 2020, up by 3.8pc from $1.41tn in the same month of 2019.
Compared to October, construction spending in the US rose by 0.9pc. In November, private construction accounted for $1.1tn, up 1.2pc from the prior month. Funding of residential buildings rose by 2.8pc to $658bn in the same period under comparison. Non-residential construction spending rose by 0.8pc over October to $453bn.
Public construction spending amounted to $357bn, falling by 0.2pc in November over October. Funding of educational buildings rose by 0.3pc to $86bn while highway construction expenditure rose by 1.8pc to $97.5bn during the same period.
