The US Department of Commerce has issued the final results of an antidumping (AD) investigation on steel nails from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The agency had investigated imports of steel nails from the middle eastern country for shipments between May 1, 2018, and April 30, 2019. It had found that Middle East Manufacturing Steel LLC (MEM) had sold steel nails to the US at less than the fair value during this period in its preliminary results published in July.

In its final order, Commerce noted that it continued to find MEM had sold the merchandise to the US at lower values and therefore has levied an AD duty of 27.28pc on the company for the period under review.

Moreover, Commerce said it has instructed the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to assess AD on all the shipments supplied by MEM during the period under review in accordance with the finalized AD duties, except the ones where MEM was not aware that the shipment was being sent to the US.
