The US Department of Commerce has slapped anti-dumping (AD) duties on heavy walled rectangular welded carbon steel pipes and tubes from South Korea.
Commerce determined that South Korean exporters sold the steel pipes and tubes at less than fair value during a final review of shipments of the material from the country between Sept 1, 2017 to Aug 31, 2018.
The review covered 21 producers and exporters, of which three—Dong-A Steel Company (DOSCO), HiSteel Co (HiSteel), and Kukje Steel—were selected for individual reviews. The duties were then determined based on the rebuttals and answers to Commerce’s queries by two of the three companies.
Commerce then determined a weighted average dumping margin of 29.07pc for the remaining 18 producers and the following AD duties on the three companies selected for individual reviews:
Company | Margin |
DOSCO | 53.80% |
HiSteel | 26.20% |
Kukje Steel | 35.11% |
