The US has levied antidumping duties (AD) on hot-rolled flat steel products exported by Hyundai Steel, Korea, but rescinded its review of Posco for the same products in its final results.
In its preliminary ruling, the US Department of Commerce had imposed AD on both the Korean steelmakers for flat steel products exports to the US from October 1, 2017 to September 30, 2018.
However, in its final ruling on these duties, published on Monday, Commerce noted that though it had established that Posco did not have any shipments of the product during the period under review in its preliminary findings, the agency had imposed an AD on the steelmaker “in error in the preliminary results.”
The final ruling has rectified the error and has assigned Hyundai a weighted average dumping margin of 0.89pc for the period under review.
