Davis Index: Market Intelligence for the Global Metals and Recycled Materials Markets

The US Department of Commerce has preliminarily determined antidumping duties (AD) on certain corrosion-resistant steel products from Taiwan.

In a notification published on Jul 30, Commerce indicated that some producers or exporters from the country sold the material at less than the fair value during the period of review (POR) from July 1, 2019, to June 30, 2020. The department also preliminarily determined that Synn Industrial had no shipments during the POR and removed the company from the list of exporters that are subject to the duty.

Commerce has imposed a preliminary AD of 1.97pc on Yieh Phui Enterprise, 3.08pc on Sheng Yu Steel, and 3.63pc on Prosperity Tieh Enterprise.

Upon publication of the final results, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will be instructed to collect a cash deposit equal to the AD margin for shipments of the subject merchandise entered or withdrawn on or after the date of publication.
