The US Department of Commerce has imposed preliminary countervailing duties for certain steel wheels from China for the period of review (POR) from February 25, 2019, to December 31, 2019.

In a notification on Jul 1, Commerce noted that an investigation revealed China had received unfair subsidies for the subject merchandise exported to the US during the POR.

Commerce has subsequently levied a CVD of 388.31pc on Zhejiang Jingu, Shanghai Yata Industry, and Xiamen Topu Imports & Export.

Upon publishing the final results, Commerce intends to instruct Custom Border Protection (CBP) to collect cash deposits of the estimated CVD on the three companies. CBP will also be instructed to continue collecting the previously stated amount for companies not reviewed.
