The US Department of Commerce has preliminarily determined countervailing duties (CVD) on finished carbon steel flanges from India for the period of review (POR) from January 1, 2019, to December 31, 2019.
In a notification published on Aug 31, the department indicated that an investigation revealed Norma and R.N. Gupta & Company had received unfair subsidies for the subject merchandise exported to the US during the POR.
Commerce has therefore levied a preliminary CVD of 5.25pc on Norma, 5.51pc on R.N. Gupta & Company, and a 5.41pc duty on companies that were not selected for individual review.
Upon publication of the final results, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will be instructed to collect a cash deposit of the estimated CVD for shipments of the subject merchandise entered or withdrawn on or after the date of publication.
