The United States’ Department of Commerce has levied 90.83pc anti-dumping duty on certain hot-rolled carbon (HRC) steel flat products from the People’s Republic of China, effective Dec 30. None of the Chinese companies applied to the US Commerce for a special rate.
Nucor Corporation had submitted a request for an administrative review of multiple companies exporting HRC to the US on Nov 30, 2018. In February, the US authorities initiated an administrative review for the merchandise from China for the period of review Nov 1, 2017 to Oct 31, 2018. Shipments from companies like Baosteel Group, Guangdong Hanjiang Steel Plate, Angang Cold Rolling Sheet (Putian), Baosteel-NSCI ArcelorMittal Automotive Steel Sheet, BNA and others were reviewed.
None of the companies subject to the review filed a special rate application, special rate certification or claimed no shipments. The US body has thus determined that the companies have not demonstrated their eligibility for separate rate status.
