The US Department of Commerce has imposed an antidumping duty (AD) on India’s Garg Tube after finding that the company produced and exported welded carbon standard steel pipes from India to the US at less than fair value.
In its final notification, Commerce revised the weighted-average dumping margin for Garg Tube imposed in its preliminary results in July 2020 for the period of review (POR) May 1, 2018, and April 30, 2019. Garg Tube was the sole exporter of the product from India and has been slapped with an average weighted dumping margin of 13.9pc by Commerce.
As a next step, Commerce will advise the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to assess the AD on all entries of the material from Garg Tube during the POR before liquidating them.
