Davis Index: Market Intelligence for the Global Metals and Recycled Materials Markets

The US Department of Commerce has preliminarily determined antidumping duties (AD) on light-walled rectangular pipes and tubes from Mexico.

In a notification published on Aug 31, the department indicated that some producers or exporters from the country sold this material at lower than the fair value during the period of review (POR) from August 1, 2019, to July 31, 2020.

Commerce has therefore imposed a preliminary AD of 0.78pc on Perfiles LM, 1.05pc on Regiomontana de Perfiles y Tubos, and 0.98pc on Maquilacero, Nacional de Acero, Productos Laminados de Monterrey, and Ternium Mexico.

Upon publication of the final results, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will be instructed to collect a cash deposit equal to the AD margin for shipments of the subject merchandise entered or withdrawn on or after the date of publication.
