Davis Index: Market Intelligence for the Global Metals and Recycled Materials Markets

The US Department of Commerce has preliminarily determined that Saha Thai Steel Pipe and 26 other producers of carbon welded steel pipe from Thailand sold goods at less than fair value in the US.

In an order slated for publication on Jun 8, Commerce established a preliminary antidumping (AD) margin of 7.23pc to Saha Thai and the remaining parties under investigation for the period of review, March 1, 2019, to February 29, 2020. However, Blue Pipe Steel Center and K Line Logistics did not make any shipments during the POR  and have therefore been exempted from the duty.

Commerce will instruct US Customs and Border Protection to collect cash deposits equal to the assessed AD duty for each exporter before entries during the POR are liquidated from the warehouse.
