The US Department of Commerce has postponed its deadline for preliminary determination of the countervailing duty on common alloy aluminium sheets from Bahrain, Brazil, India, and Turkey to August 7. The determination was due on June 3, 2020
On May 6, Aluminium Association’s working group submitted a request that Commerce postpones the preliminary CVD determinations seeking additional time to allow them to analyze responses to the questionnaire and seek clarification to determine how respondents are benefited through countervailable subsidies and to what extent.
Imports of aluminium sheet from Bahrain, Brazil, Croatia, Egypt, Germany, Greece, India, Indonesia, Italy, Korea, Oman, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Taiwan, and Turkey are likely or being sold at less than fair value (LTFV), Aluminium Association Common Alloy Aluminum sheet Working Group alleged. The association feels such products are materially injuring or threatening material injury to, the domestic aluminium sheet industry in the US.
