US domestic primary aluminum production stood at 75,387mt in July, down 10.4pc from 83,245mt in the same month last year, according to data from the Aluminum Association. Compared with June, production increased by 2.5pc from 73,502mt.
The report also detailed that during the first seven months of 2021, the US’ output accounted for 521,404mt. This is a 23pc decrease from 641,509mt produced in January-July 2020. The estimated annual production rate for July was down 9.7pc at 887,600mt compared to a year ago. Meanwhile, the year-to-date production rate fell short by 18.6pc at 897,700mt.
