Primary aluminum production within the US declined by 8.8pc in 2020 to 1.03mn mt, compared with 1.13mn mt in the previous year, according to the Aluminum Association (AA).
The AA also reported that during Q4 2020, the US produced 230,029mt of primary aluminum, down 21.3pc from 279,111mt in the same quarter of 2019. In December, primary aluminum production stood at 77,922mt, declining by 20pc from 94,066mt in December 2019.
The AA report consisted of surveys from 100pc of the primary aluminum industry within the US.
